This Italian mastiff-type dog breed is famous for being a good guard. Usually Cane Corsos are considered to be of reserved and calm personality but are little aggressive with strangers due to territorial behavior. The Protective and Watchful behavior of Cane Corso makes them a good Guard dog. They are also considered to be territorial in nature. Due to the territorial behavior of Cane Corso makes them a little aggressive to strangers.

Cane Corsos are not considered to be much friendly to cats, other dogs, and other pets. The reason for this behavior may be that they don’t trust anyone easily. They are extremely alert and protective guards that don’t let anyone enter their territory.

Active

Cane Corsos are regarded as very much active dog breeds as compared to other large size dog breeds. However, they are not much agile in comparison to other small and medium-size breeds but they are moderately active.

Cane Corsos don’t love to relax most of the time like other mastiffs. They need to be exercised daily in order to remain healthy and fit. Their exercise requirement is moderate, you can take them for regular long walks and for jogging.

If you need a dog that wouldn’t need much exercise or workout then Cane Corso is not the right breed for you!

Intelligent and Trainable

Cane Corsos are considered to be a smart dog breed that can easily learn new tricks and commands. Once you teach them something they tend to remember it for longer.

Training a Cane Corso would be much easier because they are known for better understanding and learning. Cane Corso training would be much easier if they are trained from beginning only because a grown-up dog can adapt laziness and stubborn behavior. Training of this dog breed could be easier still I don’t suggest them for the first time dog owners.

Calm

Yes, Cane Corsos are of Calm and Quiet temperament. Generally they don’t become aggressive easily against someone. They can also become good with other pets also if they are grown up with them. They are considered to be good with kids if they introduced to them properly.

However some of them are known for adopting aggression towards strangers. The reason for the Cane Corso’s aggressive temperament against strangers could be improper socialization. Proper socialization from an early age could reduce territorial behavior in them and avoid aggression.

If a Cane Corso is grown up with other pets then he will be very nice to them.
